The journey began, when the founders Dr. Didem Ljohiy and Dr. Mbaraka Ljohiy, a wife and a husband team, travelled from Turkey with their family in-tow to Zanzibar in 2022 to open a laboratory to provide health services to the island’s growing hospitality sector. During their first year on the island and meeting with several key hotel operators, they quickly discovered that there was a gap in the market in the commercial laundry industry, and decided to explore this further as a new business venture.

In June 2022 the project was set into motion and in August 2023, PURE Laundry became a reality when their facility, the largest of its kind in East Africa opened its doors in Fumba, Zanzibar.

The commercial laundry facility is equipped with industrial-grade machines designed to handle large volumes of laundry quickly and efficiently combined with specialized processes, delivering unmatched cleanliness, hygiene, and precision for linens, uniforms, and textiles, saving clients time and money.
